“Top-Tier Lodging in Ubud”

Set to the east of Ubud proper by about 10-15 mins by car, this villa is top-tier and highly recommended. The location is set away from the hustle and bustle. No loud music or hordes of tourists to be heard or seen here.

The villa is located in a small village (the tour looks great if you get a chance) with a team of staff ready to assist you 24-7. The area felt safe and relaxed. The villa itself includes a covered eating area with a kitchen (can take drinks out at your leisure) ready to prepare meals from a preset menu on request (prices are good and the options decent). Breakfast is included and served when you’re ready in the morning. Some steps lead down to the pool area which includes some lounge chairs and a small covered area.

There’s also an outdoor shower area next to the pool for washing off. While the pool itself is not heated, it warms up by mid-morning as the area is open to sunlight (and it gets hot/sunny). There are three bedrooms in the villa. Two on the bottom level and one on the second level. The bottom two bedrooms are easily accessible with the master bedroom having sliding doors directly to the pool and a TV with DVD player. Both first floor bedrooms are king-sized beds with A/C and private bathrooms.

The master bathroom is covered whereas the other first floor bedroom bath is open-air, but this does the trick. All bedrooms have A/C, the 2nd floor bedroom is a queen-size and the bathroom is covered but open-air just outside the sliding doors leading into the bedroom. 2nd floor also includes a covered lounging area which shouldn’t be missed. There are massage tables here (two) and two hammocks. There’s a nice breeze and the 2nd level overlooks part of the surrounding area which helps stretch the eyes. If you need it, there’s high-speed wifi throughout the villa too. Overall, an outstanding villa.

Take a look at the offerings book at the front and you’ll see there’s also a myriad of activities/tours available. It’s worth taking a tour/day trip. Ubud is 10-15 mins by car, but you can also request the staff arrange scooters (bikes too I think?). For massages, there are different options and with the massage tables on the 2nd level you don’t have to leave the villa. For massages, ask for Artini, the Balinese massages she gave were excellent. Pedicures and manicures are available as well, just check the menu.

What sets this place apart besides the quiet ambiance is the staff. Whether it’s arranging a tour, ride to Ubud, massage, ordering takeout (yes, they will order pizzas/takeout for delivery if you like), etc. everything was a breeze. Nyoman worked the night shifts and was always willing to offer recommendations, same goes for all the staff.

Looking forward to coming back soon, Note for those bringing kids, the complex was good for small kids. Just be sure to watch them at the pool (same for all pools), and be careful on the steps walking in and the stairs to the 2nd level. All standard stuff. They’ll enjoy the pool, feeding/watching the fish in the numerous ponds, and being able to lounge around.
