About the Owners

Stephanie Brookes lives in Ubud, Bali.  She is the author of “Indonesia’s Hidden Heritage – Cultural Journeys of Discovery”. She writes a monthly column for NowJakarta magazine and also writes regularly for Air Asia 3sixty and Garuda Colours.  An adventurous traveler, she has  traveled all over Indonesia including Sumatra, Sulawesi, Aceh, Flores, Komodo, Java, Kalimantan and always back to Bali. For several years Stephanie and her husband searched for a place to buy in Bali and when they came to Pejeng village, 4 kms out of Ubud, they knew they had found home. Pejeng is surrounded by ancient 10th century temples and rice fields.   The  Villa Damee staff, who are all from the local village are more than happy to explain the various aspects of Balinese culture. Attending a temple full moon ceremony or a temple meditation evening with one of the villa staff members will be an experience you won’t forget. If you are looking for an authentic Bali experience, with a touch of luxury, you have found it. Enjoy the travel stories on www.travelwriter.ws
